Our climate control is really interesting

I am a college student, so needless to say I am pretty poor. I go to school in a snowy cold place. Unfortunately my apartment came with an electric heater. I had no idea how expensive it was to run a heater on electricity until I got my first energy bill. It was over $250! I freaked out. I could barely afford food so how was I supposed to pay for that!? I had to put it on a credit card for now. But there were at least three months of winter left and I needed a way to stay warm. After thinking about it for a while, I realized that I may as well get my money’s worth out of my tuition. I packed up a bag and retreated to the warmth of the University library. Their furnace is always blasting, day and night. And it’s open 24 hours. While I don’t plan on sleeping there, if I spend the majority of my day there, it’s sure to cut down on my heating bills this month. Plus, it already has everything I could possibly need. There’s internet, chairs, sofas, and of course, lots of books. There’s even a small coffee shop that serves really cheap coffee and sandwiches. The heater in the library is the perfect solution. I wouldn’t be surprised if half the people in the library right now were here purely to take advantage of the library heating system. When I graduate and get a house of my own, there’s no way my heater is going to run on electricity.
